God's Speed Tux!

Been through plenty of those blasted storms here in FLA, they give you a feeling of true helplessness and a reinsurance of who is really in charge.

You know, if we started a collection to help Tux should bad things happen, we could be Tux's aides. While he may not want aides, you never know. clown

I've been super busy as I'm almost done with school, so I have missed all this.

Tux, good luck with everything.

Thought I'd check in. My family and I are unharmed. I had no flooding issues, however my power is still out. The Mopars have been my lifeline, but even with them, I've got no internet. So, I'm posting this from my in-law's. I took a few pictures but no video. I'll try to upload them soon.

Good to here you and yours are safe.

I hope you're not waiting on PECO. You may need to run your own power lines.

Waiting on PP&L. I just got word a few hours ago that we won't be getting power back until Sunday. Yay! I'm so FUCKING excited! I'm not running 10.4 Liters worth of gas engine to generate just enough electricity so we went to my in-law's where I'm typing this. Thanks for the concern everyone.

Tux, glad you are alright. Hopefully the power will be restored sooner, though if that is the only major issue you face, I feel you can say you dodged a major bullet.

Does your truck have a 4.7? I know your Jeep is a Hemi, but I thought your Ram was too...

Anyway...

You would probably really appreciate my friend's truck at a time like this. It's a '01 Ram 2500. 5.9L 24V Cummins engine, tuned by Greenville Chrysler with over 850 lbft of torque and about 400hp. 5-speed manual trans, with a GearVendors Overdrive, making it an 8 (unique) speed. (Some ratios end up being the same.) Mopar Jake Brake kit, straight exhaust - man, it's nice.

But the best part? It's got a PTO, remote hydraulics on the front and rear, a generator, an air compressor - all mounted nicely under the factory bed (You can't see anything out of the ordinary, unless you look really close.) and out of site. It runs on Bio-Diesel and has a HHO generation system. It can (and has) powered several FEMA trailers during Huricane Katrina, welders, construction site lights, operate the Jaws of Life, wood splitters, and hydraulic pumps, and can supply air for it's load-adjustment air suspension and tires with ease. And it still has full use of its 8' bed and the interior of the truck. It was built as a prototype for a first-response vehicle, and was considered for awhile, but it is too costly for most small departments around our area to consider. It is a wonderful rig, though, and if you had it, you would have no need to leave your home. It also has an exhaust gas supression system which can pump the noise and fumes into the ground. It is very, very effective, and our test spot seemed to enjoy the added Nitrogen in the soil, as they have great grass in that area. Anyway, just kind of a cool thing that I though of after your previous comments.

Yeah Sim, my truck is a 4.7. Your buddy's truck sounds awesome! I've got truck envy.
