Who's up for a bit of IROC racing? One chassis, one race car build, one tune, identical liveries except for base color, and racing on oval tracks (Sunset, Sedona, a few Benchmark ribbons, and Indianapolis). Sound like fun?

Throughout history Porsche 911, two generations of Camaro, Dodge Avenger, Dodge Daytona, and Firebird have been used for IROC races. If we do this my vote is for the Firebird though I'm game for a '70s or '90s Camaro too.

I have enough base colors sorted out. Is there a person or two people who want to take charge of sponsors on the livery? Has anyone come across a hood sized True Value sticker, or could we have one created? I have small NASCAR-esque front fender sponsor stickers. If their need arises I can gift them.

We have time to get this set up. I'm not yet home and Tux's Rolex series is still in session; we could also race IROC on a different day. Let's have a discussion.

Identical everything? I'm in. At least then I'm only being beat by everyone better than me instead of tunes coming into play as well. Hm... I'll still be in the back you say? Right you are. Wait, what? Yeah, I'm in.

M&M cookies freakin rule! The only concern about one tune is that we need to work at making it as neutral as possible so that guys who like understeer or oversteer wont be at a disadvantage just because of driving style... we nail that and this will be cool. Id still like to see a short CCMC series as well... I have the '10 Camaro, '12 392 SRT8, and the '00 Cobra R all super close and hoping to test it this weekend... tonight or tomorrow night. Ill put em stock on my storefront and we can see if I got them close or not.

How about run a no-tune tune, as in you can't touch anything after building the car to spec?

This sounds awesome! I second Squids suggestion of the Stealth. That car is a hoot to drive! It's not the Avenger, but it looks similar enough.

Which Firebird are you considering? I would race the one from Smokey and the Bandit or the newer body style, but if we go with the 80s style, I'd prefer to have the Chevy...

Yeah the Firechicken would be the latest model before the line's demise. The Camaro choices would be either the '79 Z or the '90 IROC. The Stealth would be good-to-go converted to RWD. If it's a Camaro, we should be able to transplant the stock car engine into it. Is that an available swap on the Firebird?

How about this: Full race upgrades except in areas of suspension where sport upgrades are to be used, so tuning is not possible?

Yes, we're going to look like a bunch of M&Ms, Skittles, or even better tic-tacs (they're not UFO shaped, they're shaped more like cars) pushing each another around the track.

It sucks we can't assign garage cars to A.I. drivers; I'd build extra cars of varying colors and give each artificial intelligence driver a color.

No the Firebird can only get he G8 GXP motor... If you want I could start tinkering with some ideas on builds if you shoot me the specs you would want to have and then send the cars to you when you return to the closet(Rem Callback!).... I freakin love the TruValue schemes that are all identical and it would so simple to slap one together.

Oh and I agree with Sorta about the 2002 WS6 if we dont run the Stealth and I think the WS6 is perfect cause the balance is great and the tires and power can easily be boosted to levels youd like to see.... so would we do oval???

So the 90 Camaro only can jump to the 02 SS Camaro motor or the ZR1 motor but stock motor makes 560hp and 664ft-lbs. @ 2926lbs with stockcar rims

WS6 makes 613hp and 551ft-lbs @ 2871lbs with stockcar rims

The Stealth in RWD is stuck with the Turbo V6 but makes 716hp and 590ft-lbs @ 2913 lbs with stockcar rims

79 Camaro is the same as the 90 for options and on stock motor makes 494hp and 589ft-lbs @ 2880lbs with stockcar rims

Porsche 73 Carrera is 383hp and 311ft-lbs @ 2140lbs or 1891lbs(race reduction) with Amercan TorqueThrust rims

There are 4 True Value vinyl groups on the storefront, all of them are 1,000 credits each. Also, what car are we using so I can start romping around in it? Twisted Evil

Well, with each next season they moved up to a newer car model...so why not pick something from 2008+? Wanna keep it from 'Merica? Do the G8 GXP. Go overseas and there's always the Volvo S60R, the Morgan Super Sport, the 370Z, Genesis Coupe, or really go balls out and do the Miata Superlight.

I am partial to V8 rear drive cars, so any of the F-bodies are fine with me.....

We really should figure out our racing schedules though.

We are running Rolex, but I have my Pirelli WC series I would like to run, Smus had mentioned a SEAT series before, I've heard of a 50's era series, Avanti is throwing this in the pot, and Squid has like 4 he's F'n with; Trans-Am, 392/Cobra R, GT2 etc.......

I know I am damn close with mine, I have liveries, builds, etc. But I need to come up with a race schedule and work out how to do the scoring/points with Avanti probably.

We need to figure this out though, I think we should vote on what we want to do next or something, there is no way in hell I could participate in more than 2 series at a time, and I want to run in them all.

Nice! +1 to Stalker's notion, they're all sounding like fun. I was working on a bonafide '60s T-A season too. An IROC session would probably only be 6 races total SINCE WE DON'T HAVE MORE OVAL/ROVAL TRACKS: Indy, Sunset, Sedona, and 3 different Benchmark layouts.

For the sake of having so many good options, why not run 4-week long series? Especially if we are gonna do spec series where there is little or no tuning week to week?

Also, most of us hang around and BS after races anyway, why not run two 1-hour races back-to-back? A 4-week series could have 8 races that way. Or, even more challenging, we could run two series consecutively.

Some of these series are similar to each other, so why not shorten them all for an initial run? It is much easier to design and schedule a a short season than a full-length one, and if the series ends up being a dud for some reason, it wouldn't have pushed anything else out of the way for very long. Furthermore, no one is saying we can't run a second season later, or extend the series if it is really popular.

This might also be a way to keep us going to different tracks and kidding things up a bit more week to week. IROC can run the rovals, GT2 can take on the Euro tracks, and T/A can run the American tracks. Some series can run the full tracks, while others run the shorter versions, etc...

One problem would be that after the races on Fridays I don't usually have a heck of a lot of time. Occasionally I'll have half an hour, but usually with the late starts (curse you Micro$oft and your live service) I gotta go right after. 9pm EST would be the ideal time for me, on most days, but don't know how that would fit in with most of you guys.

Rem I'm in the same boat 9/10 of the time if I can get on at all. Why not keep one on Fridays, and run another on Tuesday. That gives at least 3 days if people want to run both between series.

We'd also have to coordinate and would be flipping between chassis, though how about if we ran 2 similar series concurrently, on alternating weeks?

IROC & Seat series: one event one week, the other event the next week, and alternating.

I think that would be cool, almost like a real schedule of race events.

You could add a schedule to the top of the Forza4 Road Racing home page. I like that idea, we could almost rip off the calender part from Forza 3 (2?), where it shows the events on specific dates.

Yeah that wouldn't be a bad idea actually. I'd also be up for some practice racing in-between, I'm glad there's nothing going on right now though. After either last night or 2 nights ago attempting to tune for Silverstone and making the car worse every time, I'm a bit burned out on Forza. I probably just need a few good close races with someone to get me back in the spirit lol

I second almost everything said here...

The nice thing about the seat and iroc series are that you don't have to tune or prep as much. So I could see running that concurrently with another series. In real life the nascar guys ran IROC concurrently...

Sorta brings up a great point, let's separate Seat and IROC. Since those series won't need much (if any) tuning our participants can focus on the concurrent series. Ex: Seat & Trans-Am, Seat & Stalker's Pirelli series, IROC & Squid's modern pony cars, or IROC & GT2.

Forza only has three true racing ovals: Indianapolis, Sunset, and Sedona. Though it doubles that number in the Benchmark list: a tri-oval, the test track, and "two drag strips connected by U-turns." I can see IROC taking four events, maybe as many as all six. The problem with the Benchmark three, no pits. Those races would have to be visual damage only.

I like Sim's idea of racing each series close to their nation of origin. Were we to race a GT2 season a stop at Le Mans would be #winning Hah!

If everyone is cool running the SEAT series, I would like to run on Postiano...it fits great with the cars, lots of surfaces and unique corners, but no pits...so it would be a "wreck it and park it" deal and if its too bad just DNF.
