Also after seeing video of GT6 and reading alot of reviews Im glad I passed on it.   It seems to be a shinier version of GT5 with more duplicate cars.   Seems compared to FM4 and GT5, GT6 is a great game but it just pales in comparison to the physics and overall driving on the new console.

The most expensive car in GT6 if bought through micro transactions will cost over 200 bucks.  So all the fanboys ripping Forza for the tokens can go fuck themselves.   I wonder how long Polyphony takes to overhaul the micro economy ala Turn 10.

Im also curious if GT6 will get a HD remake for PS4 around next Xmas.   Otherwise it will be a long wait for a truly next gen GT game.   A stop gap game kinda like the GT5 prologue maybe on PS4 makes alot of sense to me.   I still really want to play the GT series.  Ive played all of them and appreciate the series for the amazing way the brand the games.   Everytime I see a trailer or advert it always makes me want to play GT so much more than the Forza equivalent.    I did see a '70 340+6bbl T/A Cuda and '71 440+6bbl Cuda in the 20 min video showing all the cars in the game.

Squid,

I got started on racing sims with the GT series.  They are great games, but once I found Forza I'm not sure I can ever go back.  I just got done checking GT6 out a little and the sounds still sound absolutely terrible.  I've read that the physics are a lot better for GT6 compared to GT5 but the visuals look identical.  Honestly though the terrible vacuum cleaner motor sounds kill it for me.  Maybe I'll get a chance to play Forza 5 someday but in the mean time I can't justify the cost.   Maybe by next year the cost will have dropped...  Also my brain is fried from finals...

I watched a short vid on GT6 and had the same impressions. More just a polished GT5. Sound is still broken, and no real new cars. Supposedly there are no premium and standard cars anymore, but the "standard" cars still don't have modeled interiors.

Still having fun with FM5 though, the 5.7 swap opens up new possibilities with T/A and AI. And for Monster Miatas. That actually sounds like a possible mini-series; V8 Miata Series.

Can you put bigger (wider) tires on to cope with the higher hp?  The problem with Froza 4 was that you could put somewhat wider tires on but it was never enough, especially for the older jap cars.

Can't speak for all the jap cars, but the Miata can get 265's on the rear.

A lot of the rear driven american cars can get huge tires; most the Mustangs can get 345's on the back.

Stuff is changing already......

http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/12/12/forza-5-economy-update-introduces-cheaper-cars-drag-racing

Seems the drag strip is coming and car prices are being reduced. Although I really don't think the car prices need to be altered, some of them are already cheaper now than what they were in FM4.

And this one.....

That guy must be a government official. He is very good at dodging the actual question and derailing it to something else. Everytime I read interviews with this guy, he further insults the gamers. He doesn't outright say it, but he words it in a way that makes it sound like its not an insult.

We should put FM5's new livery options to test and make that the series banner.

Bondurant car pack released today.

Three things lead me to believe Forza Motorsport will be getting Phoenix International Raceway, perhaps as DLC for Forza 5 or as a new track for Forza 6. I also spy the possibility of a "teach me how to race" mode within the game. Then again, I could be incorrect on both accounts.

  • The second sentence in their release page stating they partnered with Bondurant.
  • Turn 10 could have modeled any C7 Corvette but they grabbed hold of one from Bondurant's school.
  • Three cars, ranked by order of learning curve: MX-5 Cup (college ball), C7 Corvette (A to AA ball), and Indy Lights car (AAA ball) can lead right into racing for the big boys (major leagues). You've been exposed to a momentum car, a power car, and slicks with downforce. With these variations you would be prepared for most any kind of pavement racing … and probably every type of pavement racing that lasts longer than sixteen seconds.

I like when roval layouts are included because they're one location that pleases both oval fans and road course fans.
