NEW Forum Logo?

So, as a few people suggested, I've updated our logo. This will allow us to transition to FM5 easily, and it's not such a copy of any other logo (Grand Am).
Let me know what you guys think, and if you have any other ideas, post them here!

I have some ideas:
- Add some color to the car; even a grey tone.
- Flip the red and blue.
- Color the road white but keep the black square frame.

HA HA HA! Okay, I posted my ideas as text. I'll put making a picture on my to-do list. I'm preparing for tonight (going to the Sharks game) so a picture will come later.

The pic I used was of a 570. Though, I'm not sure you could tell a 570 from a 570X apart by the body panels...

Why not ditch the number and leave it as Forza Road Racing... The logo we have looks better in my opinion.

Also, our current logo is hard to place/see on some cars due to the colors and the way they are laid out.
Anyway, to be honest, I'm not satisfied with my first post, but I like the idea. I like the iRacing, NBA, MLB logos, and wanted something similar...
So, post up your ideas. If you want, I can post up the vector I made of the above image... If not, since you don't have "Forza Font" (Like I do
), Sofachrome is the closest thing to it available currently. I can also send you the vector for Forza Font, I guess...

I was thinking of something along these lines. I could color the front splitter and rear wing in a carbon fiber pattern if that's desired.

I think the new logo looks cool. Avanti, I like what you've done, the carbon fiber is a good idea. I think the logo should be larger than the font. That 1 to 1 ratio doesn't quite look right, it's like they need to be integrated together. Keep in mind, I did create our current logo to replicate the Grand Am for the Rolex series. Honestly, I think it has caught on and now it's recognizable at a glance because we've seen it so much. I like the scale of things in the current one too(I should because the original was created by a pro).

In the game, logo's show up better than text does, and it's easier to put on various colors, cause you can just put a white and/or black square behind it, and it shows up fully. I'm not feeling the logo either.
It looks, I don't know, sportsman level if you know what I mean. Like the guys that can't afford the big time sponsors yet cause they don't have the ability or recognition.

I painted on two patterns; the tires have tread and the aerodynamic pieces have carbon fiber. I can edit most pictures this way so we can take features we like here and apply them later if we don't approve on this design as a whole.

Give me next week and I'll whip up some logos and stuff, the car makes the logo lose some continuity due to it's size (like someone just plopped it on and went to the bar for the day), and the space around the text is too much.
It's best to keep the logo simple and not too busy looking with minimal wasted space, i.e. the spaces between the body panels, using a solid silhouette would be better. I've got a few ideas floating around in my head that I've put down on paper. I'll get to that once my semester has finished.

To be honest by taking away detail it only made the logo look "cheaper" as Stalker mentioned. I think if we find a logo that is an improvement over the current logo then right on but I dont like the idea of making a less attractive logo just for the sake of doing so because of the change in number title. That 4 could become a 5 real easy!

The number change is easy, as is removing the number completely. What we have is a redesign of some other logo (Grand-Am). Sim likes the logos for MLB, NBA, and the like. They're good logos and good inspiration, though again thinking of their design turns our logo into a redesign.
We should be stepping away from real world logos and using a unique appearance. I've got a unique logo created for a business [I have in mind] but that's not for Forza. I'm interested in seeing Fender's logo ideas.
I like one facet of our current design, its aspect ratio. I like the wide, narrow band. That width is why I took Sim's initial idea and placed them side-by-side rather than stacked.

Take Sim's latest, smash it down a bit more to make it wider and shorter, add black detail just for the basics and I think you may be close.
