NASCAR Discussion
Check out the final lap of the dual. Danica takes a HARD hit, and takes it like a pro.

Re: NASCAR Discussion
Yea she had a good race all day then got dumped on the last lap. Spotters not getting on the horn fast enough caused that one but then again its the last lap so every man for themselves.

Re: NASCAR Discussion
Yea its an open wheel thing... mostly but she does that out of habit because Indy cars have no power steering so if you wreck or slap the wall with the front end it will spin the ever lovin crap out of the wheel and if you have a finger in the spoke itll snap it like a fat kid into a Slim Jim. Nascar has power steering so you dont have to worry about it as much

Re: NASCAR Discussion
Fenders help also. When an open wheel car hits with the front, the tire catches first, then yanks the wheel.

Wildest wreck I ever saw happened tonight
Holy shit the #42 of Juan Montoya just had the craziest wreck I have ever seen in a car race and I bet itll never happen again! So jet dryers under a caution were out on the high line of turn 3 and JPM came down from a wreck complaining of a driveshaft issue or tranny issue and said it would vibrate worse and worse the faster he went. Boom hes cruising at probably 120 or so when entering turn three something broke and sent his car nose first into the wall right at the back of the jet dryer and busted the fuel cell of all that JP5 about 175 gallons or so into a GIANT INFERNO... the back of the jet truck melted to the track by the time they got the fire put out. JPM was lucky he hit that fast honestly because it seemed that the jet fuel wasnt able to engulf the 42 that bad as he careened off the back of the truck down to the infield. JPM went in and out of infield care it seems but the jet dryer driver was taken to Halifax out in town for further observation. The door of the truck was plowed in as well. Seriously insane how that all played out..... the odds were absolutely off the charts yet boom. Anybody else see it???

Welcome to the Daytona Fi.....Fi....FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, I saw it. Freaking insane! You know what sucks? I was doing some emergency plumbing at my house, got done, took a shower, then sat down to see the track on fire. I've been waiting all winter for this and have only seen about 10 minutes of racing.

Re: NASCAR Discussion
Lol that sucks a bit but no worries tux.... been rather uneventful. Jimmie 5 time got hooked on lap 1-2 goin to turn one and tagged Bayne and Danica. Trevor was done but Danica came back after about 65 laps. Torn rear end trailing bars and axle mounts. Then Jeff 4 time blew up and said he had no gages for awhile that might have warned him enough to save it. Roush has the fastest cars it seems and JGR is fast if they are pushed but none of them seem to have the talent to plate race in the lead so I doubt they will win.... Truex, M Martin and Kahne has been up front all day and Jr and Happy Harvick have come on hard into the top 5 or 10 ever since the 75 to go with a lil weather warning came. Harvick, Kahne and Martin have been stealthily stalking the the lead with alot of patience. Will be interesting.... Im tellin ya this is gonna get wild when we go green for the final 40! CRAAAZZZZZYYYY Checkers or Wreckers Win It or Wad It Up style. Ill have to chat you up later on sometime about the last laps. I wonder how much of a discount Nascar or Daytona Speedway got on the pallets of Tide? LOL and so funny seein how goofy the drivers look when theres no wheel to hold. Brad K was smart packin his phone haha!

Re: NASCAR Discussion
Thanks for the update. I saw the beginning 20 laps or so. I've been watching since the fire and am fired up to see this thing finish! You're absolutely right about an exciting finish, these guys are going to scratch and claw. I can't wait. I'm not sure who I'm pulling for now, I'm a JJ fan, but I really like most of these drivers.

Yea Im rootin for Happy. I really only have outright dislike for The Douch errr Busch bros and something about Edwards rubs me the wrong way... I just feel hes a two faced guy.... I get a feeling he is that shady guy thats fake. But cant really hate him really.... Not like I know him ya know. But yea Im with ya... The new cars with fuel injection and driver changes has me jacked for the season. Gonna be a good one. I wanna see em beat and bang with some epic saves to keep from having "The Big One". Seems my drivers tend to get caught up in those. I like Hendricks full stable. Always liked Kahne and lookin forward to Penske Dodges this year too! Plus RCR. Damn thats 1/4 of the field I pull for plus the likes of Martin, Boywer, Haas Racing, Jamie Mac haha Im gonna quit before I list most of the field

Yeah, I think it's most exciting when there's ALMOST a wreck. When they're all close, getting a little squirrely, moving around a bit, but not wrecking. Those are the nail biting moments that make door to door racing awesome!

Re: NASCAR Discussion
I remember when Blainey came from Sprints when he raced a Amsoil Mopar WoW Sprint Car and brought the sponsor to the brand new Dodge Cup resurrection. Dozen years ago. Lol that was the year Ol Crazy Sterlin hopped out and pulled out his fender to keep from cuttin a tire givin up the lead and win to Ward Burton. That was hilarious watchin the official have to peel him off the fender like a ref in a wrastlin match with Sterlin puttin up his hands as if to say "I aint doin nothin wrong" haha.

Says the ignorant. Your average speed rarely barely breaks what 90? Haha We have that doubled. Haha I cant help but reply to a snide comment with a snide comment.

Re: NASCAR Discussion
I gave the sport a shot in the '90s but couldn't get into it beyond that time. Be careful about comparing average race speeds, cautions lower that value regardless of what's racing. There are also air races and WWII birds have cars beat in terms of speed; everything's relative.
Having said that, there are impressive technologies N.A.S.C.A.R. is adopting. It's the type of racing which is boring to me. Just like some people find drifting fascinating and others don't. Diffr't Strokes.

Re: NASCAR Discussion
I'm just impressed I was able to watch the whole thing. Sunday we had it all planned out. Make a ham, have it be ready for race start. Leave oven at 170 so we have warm ham whenever. Actuality was different. Make ham, eat while waiting for race to start, give up after an hour when they ran out of things to talk about and started interviewing drivers' dogs. Then Monday sit down to watch the race and have Pizza Hut deliver a ham-topping pizza. Sit 7 hours (anything more than 1 hour is brutal on my back) and watch the race. On the plus side, we have ham still, and it's more delicious than it was Sunday because when it was sitting in the 170 degree oven (insert off-color religious joke here) I had it covered with some glaze or something, made it delicious-er.
