Re: Twin Ring 150
Max, what other liveries do you have available? I know your work is top-notch, and I'm sure there a plenty of us who want an authentic paint without having to do it themselves.
Re: Twin Ring 150
For these cars, NONE, not even the Wood Brothers design.
But, if someone needs help with a logo/number, let me know, or post a picture.

Re: Twin Ring 150
I'm finishing up Buddy Baker's #6 for lowrider. I too can help people with paints/decals/etc.
Max, would you mind sharing any period-correct logos with me? I have a few, but not many, and they are some of the most time consuming elements of the process.
Also, entry list is finally updated.
I'd like to get everyone together again after AI this Friday night - especially those of us who are new to the group. Heck, if you want, we can even give you an AI car and you can run that with us too - be a good way to meet the group and get used to racing with us.
If you haven't been testing, you need to be. These cars feel very different than what most of you will be used to. Also, with tire wear and fall-off, you need to be thinking about how you're going to approach the race from a pit-stop strategy. I recommend running at least a 30 lap test session with simulation damage on (That's only about 20-25 minutes worth.) to get used to the car, find the groove you like the best, and to see how the tire wear will affect you.
We're getting closer guys! I'm getting excited!

Re: Twin Ring 150
Alright, guys - this is it! This is the final week!
I'll be on most every night this week finishing up some paints and running informal practice sessions. I cannot stress this enough, if you haven't practiced, with a group, in traffic, on old tires - YOU NEED TO! The cars have plenty of grip, but they feel very, very different than what we normally run (even the T/A cars).
There have been a few more racers contact me via the Forza forums, so if we all attend it should be a great event with lots of cars on the track.
I am still in need of someone to record the event from a spectators position. Fender will not be available. Please, if you can help out with this, that will be very much appreciated.
Any questions? Now's the time!
I'll be on for an informal practice session tonight, I'd like to see a few of you there.

Re: Twin Ring 150
Okay guys, it's really crunch time now! Final open practice sessions are tonight! Get your paints ready and join us from a few runs before the actual event.
Qualifying is set for 9:15PM EST / 6:15PM PST tomorrow (Thursday) night. Immediately following Qualifying, we will have a group practice session. I expect everyone who intends on racing to be there for both events. I know many of you have been practicing solo or in small groups, but I want atleast one race-like practice session before the main event.
The Twin Ring 150 is set for Friday evening, with a 9:15PM EST / 6:15PM PST start. There will be a short driver's meeting before the race to go over the rules, the starting order, and answer any questions. There will also be an introduction of the race officials, so that we can all recognize them if/when they speak during the event.
I still need someone to capture this event. If you can do this, please let me know ASAP! I would be willing to compensate you for your time.
-----
ALSO:
I am considering a differential gear ratio change in the Daytona. If I make the switch officially, the new tune will go up on the Storefront and I'll post here.
Also, the 1970 Dodge Coronet Super Bee IS IN - but not yet on my SF. If you want it, let me know ASAP.
I still need some info from a few drivers. Like numbers, car choices, etc. Please get back in touch with me ASAP and let me know of your decisions.

Re: Twin Ring 150
Thank you to all the participants! The Twin Ring 150 was a success! I'm in the process of adding some final touches to the video, and when it is finished, I will be sure to let you know! Thanks again, everyone!
Also, be on the lookout for a similar event at Indy sometime in the near future...

Re: Twin Ring 150
Well, the video is finished! I started rendering it last night before I went to bed. When I woke up this morning it was on Lap 13...
Seems my PC is a little slow, at least when it comes to handling loads of HD video... The program was estimating that it would finish rendering the video at about midnight tonight.
Then, it's to the Tube for all to see! IMO, it's 1 hour and 20 mintues of pretty-damned-bad-ass coverage. Too bad a production like this take so much time - at least for 1 person with a slow PC. I would love to do it again, but it's not feasible to make it a next-day turn-around thing as I had hoped. Perhaps with more experience, a faster PC, or help in te future, that could change.
If it's successful on YouTube, though, and you guys like it, we will try to do more events like this in the future - and not just oval races...
As soon as the video is up, I'll let you know.

Re: Twin Ring 150
Ask Squid, muscle cars on road courses seem to be more my thing. As long as they're not too hopped up at least!

Re: Twin Ring 150
Well, shit...
I made it to 26 minutes, and ran out of HD space. Yep. 26 minutes was 163GB.
So, I gave up on my optimistic choice of.avi format and switched to mp4. More later..

Re: Twin Ring 150
Well, it took 60 hours of rendering (not including the first failed attempt), but here it is, folks:

Re: Twin Ring 150
Thats pretty cool Sim, good job.
I think I'm fuzzy on the finishing order, seemed off, but whatever. Looks good.
Be cool to do some of our circuit races, or a raptor race.

Re: Twin Ring 150
Very possible that it's messed up. Neither Max nor Hired are visible in the replay for some reason, and the camera stayed at the top end of the running order mostly, so a lot of what's going on at the back - and the finishing order - is an educated guest.
Re: Twin Ring 150
What do you need? I might be on later tonight, but I will be on tomarrow night.

Re: Twin Ring 150
Cool - we can meet up then.
We need to pick a track and cars and then start running some test laps to see where they stand. Since it's only one race, the tuning needs to be more precise and in-depth than our series does.
For road courses, I'd recommend Road America, Tuskuba (sp?), or Sebring. For cars, I'd start with the T/A cars or your PWC cars.

The last button is a eidting mode, click that.
Squid was setting up Raptors on FM5, hopefully the update gives us more options to run a series there.
