Re: The Builds Revealed
Hah hah! Smus' Alfa itch might have to get scratched.
I posted the five U2 class builds on my storefront as builds.
I wanted the BMW to be one of the choices. Since there wasn't a way to remove its turbo, and since I've already fudged the *cough cough* *ahem* FIVE LITER CLASS, I decided I'd fudge the two liter class and gave everything a turbocharger.

Awesome. I'll be running that Alfa like its nobodys business...although the MG is pretty sweet.

Re: The Builds Revealed
I guess I need to commit to the series, been waiting for this along time. Need to get to work on my car and build. This long weekend off will definitely help. So am I to understand all builds are to be -35% from the 7:1 specs so adjusting can be implemented. Do we just show up with built car or do we need to post to forum our choice. Any deadline been set prior to race nite.

Re: The Builds Revealed
Trans-Am will be raced as-is, there is no modified build bucket; that's for American Iron. The little cars are built to a ratio of ten pounds per horsepower and the large cars are built to a ratio of seven pounds per one horsepower.
All builds are on my storefront. Grab a few which interest you and try them out. When you know for sure which one you'd like, message me on Xbox Live and I can gift you the unlocked build.
I'd like to know your chosen car and your chosen number before July 12th (race on 14th); post them to this thread: https://forzaroadracing.forumotion.com/t484-the-drivers

Re: The Builds Revealed
I dropped my storefront offerings. Builds have changed since I posted the original seventeen builds and the handful of updates. I am sending updated builds to people who have expressed interest in certain platforms.

I didn't see that one coming. Damn - kinda set myself up there...
Re: The Builds Revealed
Anything with that 428 Cobra Jet was choked. On the flip side, the 327 Nova, 383 Barracuda, and 289 Mustang were given boosts.
Stalker, it is possible you have the most recent build. I was looking over the other cars I dialed back ('69 Camaro, AMX, and others) and saw my storefront wasn't up to date with the further developments in my file list.

Re: The Builds Revealed
Stalker, you may want to rethink your choice; the '69 Shelby will be getting a downer build. I started off with all the allowed parts on its stock engine and couldn't bring it to 7:1 pounds per horsepower. In order to boost it I installed the Shelby Cobra engine in it. Even when bone stock that engine makes the car too fast. I'll be reverting its build to the stock engine.

Re: The Builds Revealed
Oh I see how it is, trick me into picking that 69', having fun with it, getting used to the marine suspension, for how many months? Then change it right before the first race?
So what do you suggest? Is the 68' the same story?

Re: The Builds Revealed
I sent over a different build for that '69; play with it and see how you like it. In the five test laps I took I was able to turn some times akin to the rest of the field.
The '68 is good as it sits at 552.

Re: The Builds Revealed
Eight U2 class builds shared on my storefront. Backward engineering of builds encouraged in the name of having unlocked builds to tune.
Edit: Found all U2 cars intersect at 225 mm tire cross section so they may equip 225 mm tires. Storefront getting pulled down and re-posted.

Re: The Builds Revealed
Geoff, how much difference in lap times are you noticing in the U2 vs U7 cars?
Re: The Builds Revealed
At Iberian (the Lime Rock -esque layout) in clockwise direction it's no closer than 5 seconds per lap difference. At Tsukuba they'll be a skoosh closer. At Road America and Sebring they're miles apart.
Edits: My U2 turbo builds are closer, about 3 seconds difference.I'm chasing down this notion the BMW 2002 can remove the turbo. If so and I can keep the U2 class naturally aspirated, the difference should be as shown above.
Nope, it can't.
Also, take a look on my storefront for updated O5U7 builds. I found some previous oversights. A few cars, Dodge Challenger among them, now gets more tread. I decided to give 255 front width to all these builds, and a few that had 255 in rear [that can take it] get 265.

I think the pinto has to take 225's on the rear because of it skipping. So.... makes sense. But you're saying the U2's can now have 225's all around? Just as I was getting used to these things. LOL.

Re: The Builds Revealed
U2T and O5U7 cars are ready for evaluation. Message me on XBox Live for certain builds you want. You may also ask for a group of cars such as: all Asian U2T, all Mopar, all FoMoCo, all Camaros, all Euro. U2T, all Mustangs, all GM F-body, et al. and I will send you the builds fitting your request. Squid, I know we need to have a party conversation so you can build them; catch me on this week and I'll get you set up.
The builds feel closer already, especially since adopting the ratings sum ÷ PI approach. I have managed to keep the Javelin, '69 Z/28, and all 428 Cobra Jet cars closer to the field than their T/A season one builds.
With that out of the way, the wider the variety of cars you test the better for the series. When multiple people test the same car and compare that car to different cars, I get a better sense for how the field will shake out. Ex: many drivers test the '69 Firebird and/or the '66 Nova while also testing their favored cars.

I'M EXCITED!!!
I'm going on right now to check them out. But I have no clue where to start. I'm kind of curious about the "slower" U2 cars, so maybe I'll start there.
