Setting up races...
Haven't had any luck as of yet, maybe I'm just missing something easy. Is there a way to run a timed race, rather than a set amount of laps? One would think there would be but I haven't found it yet.

Sorry, I feel so vindicated now...
Yes, there is. And there are a couple of ways to do it. The option for this is in the finishing/end of race options area, which should be on the 2nd tab. By default, you will see "Number of Laps" or something like that, change this to "Time."
Also, you can change the type of race on the first tab from "Circuit" or "Custom" to "Time Trial", and then just adjusts the specifics accordingly.

I will give it a shot, thank you! I am toying with the idea of an endurance race, but a timed one, with cars set to stock, no tuning. That last part may change depending how the cars handle with weight reduction and roll cages.

A bit o' warning:
A Forza Motorsport timed event ends bar none upon the timer reaching '0'.
Real world timed events (like A.L.M.S.) end after the timer reaches '0' and all drivers finish the lap they've started.
I hope they change ↑ for the Forza Motorsport to follow Forza Motorsport 9/16 × 2pi.

Yes, right on Avanti. Forza even figured out a way to screw up timed events.
