Starts:

All starts will be double-file rolling starts. Races will start with a warm-up/formation lap, in which the running order will be established. The leader will have lane choice.

Please note that Motegi and Sedona will have two warm-up laps.

Competition Cautions:

Competition Cautions occur in the middle of each race. At the start of each Competition Caution, the leader will slow down to 60mph. The racers behind the leader are allowed to catch up, but passing on the track is not allowed.

If a racer pits, they can be passed. However, pitting in the caution period will allow the racer to catch up to the field.

If the leader wishes to pit during the Competition Caution, they can race at full speed until they pit. The first driver to cross the start/finish line is to pace. If the leader is so far ahead that they can pit and still retain the lead, when they exit the pit, they should stay at the pace speed.

Please note that pitting is NOT required. If you can keep your car clean and damage free, you may be able to pick up a position or two during this time.

Also note that Motegi and Sedona will have two Competition Caution laps.

Restarts:

Any and all restarts will be double-file. Again, the leader will have lane choice.

Cautions:

Cautions can (and probably will) occur outside of the Competition Caution period. If a caution is called, the field is to slow to the pace speed. Racers in the rear can catch up, but cannot pass.

The following occurances consititute a caution:

  • A 180 degree or more spin of any kind.
An off or skid which results in a nearly stalled (or very slow) car on the race track. (This does not include "sticky grass.")
    A roll-over.
A wreck. (Not a rub, but a wreck. You all know the difference.)

Drivers may pit during cautions, but they may be passed while they are in the pits.

If a caution occurs prior to, but continues to the 3 laps-to-go mark of the Competition Caution or the end of the race, the race will be red-flagged. After the red-flag period, there will be a single warm-up lap, followed by two green flag laps.

If a caution occurs on the 3rd lap-to-go to the Competition Caution or the end of the race, the race will be red-flagged. Following the clean up, the remainder of the lap will be a warmup, and the last two laps will be green flag racing.

If a caution occurs with 2 or less laps to go of the Competition Caution, the Competition Caution will begin on the lap immediately following the initial lap of the caution. Any laps taken from the normal green flag race will be added to the following portion.

If a caution occurs with 2 laps to go to the finish, the race will be red-flagged. A standing restart will be required if this occurs.

If a caution occurs on the last lap of the race, no caution will be called and racers are urged to continue racing, but be aware of the situation.
