The Builds Revealed
Your goal is to have 7 pounds for every 1 horsepower and your car will have race weight reduction- no passenger side seats folks. Keep in mind there are parts which alter both power and weight; take these parts into special consideration.
I already have the builds ready to go. This is so you may build your own car and don't have to ask me to gift the file once you've made up your mind. If you find another method to create 7 pounds : 1 horsepower let me know. Don't be surprised if I burn your idea faster than the Hindenburg, however! I am open to suggestions but I am ex-Army where "Attention to detail is key." I pretty much have the rules set in my mind.
Platform and Handling:
All sport pieces except race chassis reinforcement and roll cage and race weight reduction.
â”” I don't allow suspension tuning (via race suspension) because it's not equipped. However, all cars have stock sway bars and some have options for street sway bars. If you wish to mish-mash stock, street, & sport sway bars front and rear, that will be okay. Keep in mind sway bars affect weight.
Drivetrain:
Street clutch
Sport transmission
â”” You may tune the final drive ratio for races.
Any driveline up to the race component
Sport differential
â””You may tune the 1.5-way differential for races.
Tires and Rims:
Race tire compound
Front tires 255 series
Rear tires 255 series
â”” By the time these sizes start becoming available, some cars skip the odd tens digit. These cars may fit 265 series rear tires but no larger.
â”” You may tune air pressure for races.
I fitted the builds with American Racing Torq-Thrust M wheels to further enhance the field's parity. You may choose wheels that are equal to or heavier than those wheels, not lighter.
Wheels are 15" diameter front and rear, no larger, no smaller.
â”” If you select the unicorn 1969 Camaro SS you'll race with stock 14" diameter wheels. Turn 10 didn't give it a 15" option.
Aero and Appearance:
For cars where it is an option, remove the rear bumper.
Forza race front bumper.
Forza race rear wing.
â”” You may tune the downforce for races.
Forza 4 hoods were designed for drag racing cars. No Forza hood may be fitted.
Engine and Power: Yes, we're doing this last. ÷ weight by 7 to find your allowed power except a few chassis may be receiving help.
Air filter may not be the race component.
Intake manifold and throttle body may not be the race component.
Carburetor is to be the race component.
Ignition may be stock or street only.
Exhaust is to be the race component.
â”” The Mercury Cougar and '69 Camaro Z/28 are being choked back to sport exhaust.
Camshaft may not be the race component.
Valves may be any: stock, street, sport, or race.
Displacement must be no greater than 7.0L or within rounding down (so 429 cubic inches). The game may not say you have a 7.1L engine or greater.
Pistons and compression may not be the race component.
Oil and cooling is to remain stock.
Flywheel may be up to street.
Everything is ↑ there.
Text where I say "[this part] may not be the race component" means you may choose stock, street, or sport to suit your needs. Any other questions, ask below.

But what if I want to make some money by offering rides during races?
I'll have to look into my build, make sure it fits into this, withany a lot ALL the luck possible to fit into one xbox, maybe, just MAYBE I can have a car / me setup that can run mid to front pack without assistance or a more grip bucket or something.

Rem, if memory serves on 2 of the 3, I believe the Mercury and 69 Z28 are quite grippy, I know for a facttthat the Javelin is grippy as well.

Smus is correct. Rem, either the Cougar or '69 Z/28 would be good for you; another would be the 'Cuda.

Re: The Builds Revealed
Oh yeah, the Cuda is good too...funny because I know that Squid and I discussed it and Avant I you may have been around for it as well, but the dramatic differences between the Cuda and the Challenger are pretty stark for being, mechanically, very similar...but that is an entirely different thread.

Re: The Builds Revealed
Probably looking at the Z then, though a Mercury sounds neat also. I'll have to try them out. Avanti, are those builds on your storefront?

Yes, all builds are on my storefront though storefront items are locked. The initial post is so you may build and tune the car to your liking, even though there's not much to tune.

Re: The Builds Revealed
I like the locked aspect for trying out cars. Gives a neutral feel before tuning and get what's comfortable, then tune the comfort (and speed) out of it. Well, that's me at least.

Re: The Builds Revealed
It's not classed as a pony car:
If Forza Motorsport 4 were more realistic I wouldn't even host this made-up O5U7 class. I would stick to the real-life 5 liter maximum.
- Mustang
- Cougar
- Camaro
- Firebird
- Challenger
- Barracuda
- Javelin

Re: The Builds Revealed
Yeah, I'm going to have to do more testing, but preliminary results indicate that the Z is more fun to drive, and faster at Road America by about a full second. However, more testing is needed before one can come to a sturdy conclusion between the two cars. Sorry, over-compensating for total brain-ular shutdown after 13 hours of trying to get Windows 7 up and running on my new hardware.

Re: The Builds Revealed
My storefront has all builds. For those whom haven't checked lately, the:
'68 Barracuda may receive a boost
'65 Mustang GT may receive a boost
'71 Javelin AMX may be pulled back &
'69 Shelby Mustang may be pulled back.
The first two cars listed have possible updated builds posted.

If you want some amateur help running these things let me know, I'd be happy to turn some laps with ya. If nothing else you can get another driver's perspective or some junk
