It has been awesome. NBC is airing Olympics coverage all day today. This I like, though it makes getting things done a bit more complicated.

I've just never gotten into the olympics, though I do enjoy watching some of the gymnasts now and again.

Re: Olympics!!!!
I was wondering what they called that dumb ribbon twirling thing haha.... Its crazy really just how many random, and to the ignorant like me, seemingly pointless events that they call sports... Really I wonder how long till a MLG(Major League Gaming) style event makes it in... Id say its as demanding and ribbon twirling. Imagine NBC having to show legit tv time for video games!

Re: Olympics!!!!
That's a good question Sim. In Greek and Roman times didn't they race horse-drawn chariots? Let's bring that back.

Re: Olympics!!!!
They could adopt the RoC. RACE of CHAMPIONS
That would be really easy and could allow just about any countries participation due to the equal and relatively inexpensive cars they use.

Re: Olympics!!!!
That would be really cool...do a "rally" type race with stages that follow the Road cycling route, then maybe have a full race, due to the fact that moat major cities have a race circuit near by.
Could use Ford Foci, being as its a global car and cheap.

No I think the road going no brand buggy style cars would be best.... No branding means less conspiracy theories. That and the buggies dont look like they are from anywhere so no one feels alienated.

I was going to say that, a formula car of sorts, but something needs to power it...

Re: Olympics!!!!
Why not just do the best from each country?
It'd be the Viper and Vette (or GT?) vs. the 458 and Aventador vs. the DBS and the M600 vs. the Imprezza and Evo vs. the M3 and the R8 vs. the Koenigseggerplatapussycatwoman and Spyker vs. whatever the hell China has vs. a couple Aussie V8 Super Cars vs. whatever other countries have cars worth a damn...
Or, better yet, we could break it up into different classes. We could have our 100m dashers (drag racing), our 100m hurdles (Rally Cross), a 1600m race (Oval Racing), the 300m hurdles (Baja), the cross country events (Hill Climbs), a 1600m Relay (Endurance), etc.
Can you imagine how much better our cars would be if they had to directly compete against each other for a spot on the Olympic team and get all the sales and publicity that come from that. Not only that, but once you get the spot, you gotta go up against the best the rest of the world has to offer?
Hell yeah, I want this...

Re: Olympics!!!!
Sim the whole idea of the Olympics is a test of an athlete from any participating country in a fair event where each country, no matter the GDP, has a fair chance of winning. So the cars would all have to be equal and let the drivers(athletes) prove which country is the best that year. Your idea is just a Motortrend shootout which we read about almost every year. I want the same cars so that USA could prove to the EURO snobs that the Yanks can wheel just as good as they can!

Re: Olympics!!!!
Kudos to Olympic athletes! They're insane. Talk about showcasing the very peak of human conditioning, focus, and execution. My hat off to all of them.
