Next Gen Xbox

Sony has a lot of catching up to do. I have a ps3 and it's just junk compared to an xbox. The only thing it does better is blu-rays. I probably won't even bother getting one this time around, unless they do something truly ground breaking.

PS4 WILL play used games!

So I feel this is a big statement because alot of big games industry analysts were saying that if one console says they will block used games then the other would do so as well or vice versa. So I really feel that XBOX will play them as well. Now this doesnt mean that both consoles or just one of them may attempt to insist on a pass code to unlock the console and restrict the game to that gamer-tag associated with it. That would mean buying the used game on the cheap would still require a internet connection to purchase a unlock code pass for it each time it passes hands. Very curious for the Microsoft event that is tentatively planned for May right now.

I saw the dual shock 4 controller...it comes with a touch pad...that's an interesting little doohickey

There's also a share button which allows the gamer to [allegedly] instantly upload a screen capture or video clip of their game play to the web.

Sony also has their own version of smartglass coming with PS4.

Funny thing about all the Sony tech is that there is alot of "PS4 has the capability to do________" which means that some of these amazing features wont actually be ready for use at launch. Lots of promises to keep that could disappoint alot of Sony guys and gals if they fail to deliver. Hope that Microsoft doesnt make that same mistake and actually will have all the goods ready to go at launch. A huge thing that I would love to see is the ability to transfer HDD items from 360 to the new Xbox so I could carry over my vinyls from FM4 to FM5.

Could that already be an option with cloud storage? It would be the easiest to implement on Microsofts side.

I thought no coder could extract everything out of a console at launch? That for the first year or so, game developers were still learning new coding tricks and finding new ways to be more efficient. I could be thinking about the A and AA titles though while the coding geniuses at the AAA level can jump right in and get to business.

I wouldn't be averse to starting over with vinyls in the new Motorsport on the new console because [I hope] the new Motorsport will have some cool new tricks in the paint shop side of the game. Though now as I say that, importing the old to use as a stencil for the new would be pretty cool. The biggest feature I desire is a way to sort the vinyls via a file arrangement system. Let me create, name, and arrange folders; Microsoft Game Studios is Turn 10 Studios' parent after all.

True but I worked so many hours on those vinyls due to lack of talent and most likely wont have that much free time again. Hate to see em go. As far as your mention of Devs figuring out the consoles, thats not what I was referring to if you were talking about my post. I meant many "Console" features like the the share feature, ability to play on PSP screen wirelessly are a couple that apparently the console can do these but so far not guaranteed to be available at launch. Will be interesting to see just how many features you get at launch.

Exactly Sim.... Plus I feel it would be easier to mess with a half detailed sticker I already have then have to start from scratch. Will be fun to see how much more we will have at our disposal in the sticker editors of FM5

Alleged neXtBox news out of New Zealand.

It won't require a constant Internet connection.
It will have blu-ray support.
It will have the capability to broadcast live TV.

Not requiring a constant Internet connection is good, for not every potential customer has that capability at this time. Live TV corroborates recent rumors that Microsoft won't release two variants (1: movies & entertainment, 2: gaming) of the XBox but will house everything in one.

Lastly, this digital rights management crap is annoying. I know its intended purpose though I am reminded of Newton's third law of motion, "For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction." It can apply to more than a physical motion. As long as an action is met with resistance, somebody, some where, at some time will find its defeat. In the meantime it's a nuisance. There are crafty people on this planet. Cry me a river, build a bridge, and get over it.

Yea on Monday I watched IGN post about this. It seems pretty solid due to the source information being taken out of Microsofts XBOX teams' inner office memo transcripts. I think that the lack of info and verification previously led to the rumors of the console having all these unwanted features most likely as a way for Microsoft (and other console makers) to gauge public reaction and/or willingness to accept the features such as Always On.

The reveal was good, lots of cool information on XBox One [Anyone ever watch GoBots back in the day? Leader One, the transforming F-15]. XBox One / Leader One? Eh? No? That's what I first thought of anyway.

I haven't watched the interview but how can you not be excited? I mean honestly, the clip I saw looks gorgeous.
